In alignment with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision for sustainable development and ecological balance, the country places a high priority on preserving and enhancing its natural environment. Among its most significant environmental assets are the national parks, which encompass a diverse range of natural landscapes that feature a wide variety of geographic and climatic ecosystems, each holding exceptional environmental, cultural, and ecotourism value.

These parks play a crucial role in promoting environmental sustainability, combating desertification, and mitigating the impacts of climate change. They also contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and offer accessible natural spaces that enhance public well-being and quality of life.

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) is mandated with the stewardship of these parks. The NCVC works to protect, develop, and restore vegetation cover and natural resources, while also upgrading infrastructure and visitor services to ensure sustainable park management. In collaboration with local communities and cross-sector stakeholders, NCVC implements high-impact projects that enhance the resilience, sustainability, and functionality of these natural reserves, striking a balance between environmental protection and responsible development.
