Saudi Arabia is a land shaped by time. From towering mountains and ancient caves to dormant volcanoes and lush oases, its landscapes tell the extraordinary story of Earth’s natural evolution. Every rock formation and terrain reveals a chapter in a geological legacy millions of years in the making.
These breathtaking sites are more than just natural wonders — they are windows into the planet’s deep history, offering unmatched opportunities for discovery, education, and sustainable tourism.
To highlight and protect this unique heritage, the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) is leading a national effort to nominate 13 geosites for inclusion in the UNESCO Global Geoparks.
