A delegation from the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) participated in the Earthna Summit 2025, held in Doha, Qatar, alongside representatives from international, regional, and global organizations. The summit aimed to strengthen the role of innovation and knowledge in advancing sustainability.
The second edition of the Earthna Summit focuses on the sustainability of communities living in hot and arid regions, examining their environmental, economic, and social aspects. It highlights the environmental challenges facing these areas, facilitates the exchange of expertise, and shares best practices in sustainable agriculture, natural resource conservation, and climate change adaptation.
During its participation, the NCVC delegation showcased Saudi Arabia’s pioneering experience in developing and sustaining mangrove forests, supporting local communities through volunteer campaigns, and promoting mangrove honey production. These efforts were highly praised by summit participants and attendees.
The NCVC continues to implement numerous initiatives, programs, and projects aimed at fostering a thriving and sustainable vegetation cover across Saudi Arabia. These efforts include protecting, conserving, and enhancing vegetation, rehabilitating degraded lands, restoring biodiversity in natural ecosystems, supervising the management and investment of rangelands and national parks, monitoring violations affecting vegetation, combating illegal logging across the Kingdom, and safeguarding natural resources, supporting the NCVC’s vision of establishing a flourishing, diverse vegetation cover that strengthens environmental sustainability and enhances quality of life.
