Al-Ghat National Park, located in Riyadh Region, welcomed the birth of 10 Reem gazelles this April.
An important milestone in the ongoing effort to restore native wildlife in their natural habitat. The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), which oversees national parks across the Kingdom, is working to enhance vegetation cover in these areas, creating thriving ecosystems that support a wide range of species.
In partnership with the National Center for Wildlife, the NCVC previously released several native species into Al-Ghat National Park, including Reem gazelles, contributing to the revival of wildlife populations in line with the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative. The NCVC continues to protect and develop vegetation sites, rehabilitate degraded lands, monitor environmental violations, manage and regulate grazing, and safeguard forests and national parks.
Through its wide-ranging initiatives, the NCVC supports global efforts to combat climate change and reduce carbon emissions, promoting long-term environmental and economic sustainability.
