About the initiative:
This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of livestock production from traditional grazing system (i.e., continuous and open grazing) to modern breeding patterns, in conjunction with the gradual regulation of overgrazing to alleviate pressure on natural rangelands.
- By rehabilitating 8 Mn Ha of pastures, the initiative contributes to achieving and protecting SGI targets, which represents 20% of the target.
Initiative goals:
- Conserve 8 Mn Ha of rangelands in 26 sites across the kingdom.
- Reduce the impact of sandstorms and improve public health.
- Provide nature-based solutions to carbon capture and combatting climate change.
- Combat desertification and help recovering the plant biodiversity.
- Increase the productivity of livestock.
- Support local communities.
- Support food security.
