Saudi Geoparks

These breathtaking sites are more than just natural wonders — they are windows into the planet’s deep history, offering unmatched opportunities for discovery, education, and sustainable tourism.
To highlight and protect this unique heritage, the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) is leading a national effort to nominate 13 geosites for inclusion in the UNESCO Global Geoparks. This milestone effort positions Saudi Arabia as a leading destination for geotourism, both nationally and globally, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to celebrating and preserving its geological heritage. ​​
