Preparation of studies and reports on the inventory and classification of vegetation and desertified lands.
The development and protection of all vegetation areas and plant genetic resources.
The management of nurseries, grasses and seed banks belonging to the Center for the Production of Seedlings for Wild and Coastal Plants to support vegetation development initiatives and the conservation of plant genetic resources.
Implement the national commitments stipulated in the international and regional agreements on vegetation and combating desertification ratified by the Kingdom.
The organization of activities concerning local hereditary plant resources and their vegetable or reproductive parts.
Periodic monitoring and assessment of both desertification and land cover areas throughout the Kingdom and the establishment of a digital database.
Issue decisions, requirements, controls, and lists pertaining to invasive, exotic, rare, and endangered plants and the gas and its environment.
Issue standards, controls and guides for the species of trees, shrubs and plants related to their specialization and suitable for planting in different environments in the Kingdom.
The development of initiatives, programs and projects for the development of vegetation and the follow-up of their implementation.
Develop operational plans of action and follow up on their implementation with regard to their terms of reference in approved national environmental strategies, plans, programs, projects and initiatives.
Obtaining from individuals, governmental and non-governmental entities information and data on the competencies and requirements of the Department in order to perform its tasks.
Establish and encourage training programs in areas related to its specializations to improve the performance of administrative and technical staff.
Organization of environmental extension activities related to its competence, including sessions, seminars and working sessions.
Cooperation with universities, research centers and institutions in relation to their competencies.
Work to rehabilitate desertified sites and degraded vegetation lands.
The preparation and issuance of national reports on the state of vegetation, as well as on relevant environmental conventions.
Establishing the rules, conditions, and controls pertaining to the permits and permits of vegetation lands.
The review and visualization in his field of specialization of environmental impact assessment studies of activities in vegetation lands in coordination with the National Center for Monitoring Environmental Commitment.
The development and implementation of studies and research programs on desertification and land under vegetation with a view to combating desertification and developing and maintaining vegetation.
Carry out environmental guidance activities in relation to combating desertification and land under vegetation, including specialized courses, symposiums, working sessions and information campaigns.
